SociaLight helps you find and connect with groups of friends when you are out.

Because we believe it should be easy to find your friends when you go out, SociaLight locates groups of 2 or more friends and makes getting together simple. Whether you are looking for an impromptu hangout, a big party, or friends still going at 2AM, SociaLight helps you find your night!


1) Choose to Socialize, Hide, or Ping your location.

-Socializing. Users will be visible to active friends when in groups of 2 or more mutual friends
-Hiding. Users will be invisible to all other users, whether or not they are with a group
-Pinging. Users will be visible to active friends for 30 minutes, even if they are not in a group

2) Locate groups of friends in your vicinity or elsewhere. Filter by group size. Then get directions.

3) Communicate directly with friends and share photos whenever you want through SociaLights chat feature. Even retract unwanted messages or photos.


Users have complete control over their visibility with other users. SociaLight imports your Facebook relationships and lets you designate active or inactive status for each friend. Friends listed as inactive will not be able to see you, nor can they tell that they have been designated as inactive.


SociaLight works best in areas with strong network coverage and high location precision, where location updates can occur every several minutes. Groups will be visible to active friends for 60 minutes following a location update.

SociaLight has also been optimized to maximize battery life, running location updates for up to 20 hours in ios 7. However, continued use of GPS (or Bluetooth) running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
